14th Zenith will be having their very First Mini Test next week on Monday.

Apparently, we I am very scared and nervous that I think I should must take a break stay away from the Internet for a while. At least until the Test.s over.

So, please visit this page again on Monday. I meant it, seriously. :)

Now please excuse me... I.m going to bury myself in the books.

Have a Nice Day, people! G'luck 14th Zenith!

Speaking of Creative...

...I would lurve to prove some points here. For the last few days of Ramadhan and days onwards, I consider myself as a Food Analyst. A Genius One. Oh, Creative too. ;)

Let.s just say.. I.ve been doing lots of new experiments lately, and I am pret-ty sure I am satisfied with the outcome. Take yesterday.s Tomyam for instance. It was sour, but it can still be eaten. Point 1: Tomyam-lovers can still enjoy the taste of Tomyam even if it was kept overnight at room temperature. The bacteria were present, I.m sure of it.. But I was talking about the Hardcore Tomyam Fan, Duh..  They don.t really care about these little teeny tiny, petty stuffs..

Secondly, the taste of Nasi Goreng Pattaya was quite tolerable. Sure sure it tasted weird, but I was able to endure throwing the portions of the egg-coated rice into my mouth without thinking of anything related to Expired. Stale. Bad. Ewww. Point 2: Nasi Goreng Pattaya too, can withstand the room temperature without getting all mouldy.

I.ve also eaten Plain Rice with Telur Dadar. Of course we all know, it is a long-lasting dish. But the egg was a bit.. well, juicy. Pardon the use of exaggerating words, I.m trying to be creative here, remember? Point 4: Plain Rice and a side dish make the best option for your Sahur meal. After all, we all got our own Rice-Cooker, right? Oupss~

Considering the fact that I went back to my house every weekends for the last few weeks, it was Heavenly Sahur every Monday mornings. You know why? Because my Mom packed me a set of Homemade Meals! I love My Mom. Of course the food were reheated and refrigerated the night before. Point 4: Mom.s cooking is the best! Now go and call your Mom, ask for a Sahur Set too!

And today, it was Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin time... in which, what they say is true: it does not last long. To be accurate, it was sticky. Like you put some glue into the rice and mix them together. Eww. I know, right? But I don.t really mind. Because the quest to go deep into this field requires patience. And always be ready to get dirty. Okkaaay.. that sounds dirty. Point 5: Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin under Room Temperature is definitely a No-No during Sahur

Given my Sahur meal was completely ruined due to the Gluey-Guey fried rice, I made myself a nice bowl of Maggi Goreng Perisa Sambal Pedas. This type of food does not qualify for the test as it was not kept overnight. But just for a future reference: During the day, please refrain yourself from Public Burping - it.s gonna be Megi-Smelly.. And Junk Food is bad for your health.

Dear Miss Fareez, thank you for initiating the idea for this post. Last point being, now I.ve turned your sweet sarcastic remark into a nice, lengthy an enjoyable reading! I am truly creative, am I not? In your face! (OMG, I am soo loving myself right now ;) No offence Fareez, No offence... Theheeee...)

ps. Tell me, which part of me being creative you find it difficult to accept? ;)

Same old, same old..

Sahur at 5, Subuh prayer, Surf Net, Sleep Study in class...

Back to Mahallah, Buy food, Break fast...

...And the cycle continues, repeats and recycles. Today is like every other days in Ramadhan. Except for the fact that I nearly finish up an entire bowl of extremely-sour Tomyam this Sahur.

Oh wait a second. I had eaten Nasi Goreng Pattaya (which tasted weird) during Sahur yesterday too! I wonder why I had stomachache..

The thing is, they didn.t taste very good. I bought the food the night before and kept them for Sahur the next day. What, do you expect me to eat Maggi Goreng Perisa Sambal Pedas every morning at 5 o'clock?

Like I said, the cycle repeats.. and it will once again.

Saliva Story

Note: Read the following at your own risk. The author is not liable to any occurrence of nauseous feeling or sudden vomiting after reading the passage.

In Gasrointestinal (GI) Tract Lecture this morning, we were told by Dr. Nilar Aung that humans produce approximately 1500ml or 1.5L of saliva each day by salivary glands.

Me and my friend were discussing about this matter enthusiastically.

"Whoa... 1.5L saliva... banyak tu.. boleh kenyang tak?"

"Hm... ko try la kumpul banyak-banyak pastu minum.. Agak-agak kenyang tak?"

DON.T you try to imagine that. Ughh.

Cracked CS

What happens if you got the Full Version of several softwares for less than RM30?

I.ll tell you what, this happens.

My Dad got me an Adobe Web Premium CS3 DVD! Yeah I know CS3 is sooo last season, but I.m using Vista. It.s too risky to get a CS5. I think I.m happy with this one. For now.

And what happens if you are overly excited to try out the application without considering the result of your so-called Hands-On-Experiment?

Well Well Well...

You got yourself a Standard-One-Drawing.

ps. It is so difficult to draw by using a Mouse, I think I.m gonna buy a Drawing Tablet...

Adlin.s Tobat Maksiat

I always want to record Adlin singing Tobat Maksiat by Wali Band. This time, she self-recorded herself by using my phone. It was a bit noisy in the car because we my Mom was listening to IKIM's Mari Belajar Bahasa Arab session at the same time Adlin chose her moment to 'shine'.

If you got some spare time, let.s have a Look and Laugh along. :)

ps. Tak tahan dengan Ekspresi Muka Yang Terlampau.... Haisshhh, adik sapa la ni.. :)

Oh My Heart!

Anatomy Practical Classes always amuse me greatly. This time we get to see the Heart and Lungs. Yes. Human Heart and Lungs. Duh.

Thank you God for giving me Right Atrium, Right Ventricle, Left Atrium, Left Ventricle, SA Node, AV Node, Papillary Muscles, Lingula, Chordae tendinae, Trabeculae carnae - Okay Okay I.ll make it short...

Thank You God For Giving Me A Heart.

I Heart You.

And a pair of lungs that allow me to breathe the fresh air into the bronchi, to the bronchioles, flows smoothly to the alveoli then diffuses into the... Oh Oh Am I going too far? Okay, I.ll stop.

Thank You God For Giving Me Lungs.

I Lung You. (read: I Love You)

Tips For Eating Well (or not!)

WHILE Ramadan is a time for us to gain some perspective on the suffering of the poor and unfortunate, many tend to go berserk on a food binge. This leads to wastage and also mindless eating which can take a toll on one’s body.

Mary Easaw-John (pic), senior manager of dietetics and food services at the National Heart Institute (IJN), provides some tips on proper food consumption during Ramadan.

1. Maintain a sustainable diet. Avoid taking oily fried food and refined carbohydrates for sahur. Consume nutrient-dense meals which consist of brown rice, wholemeal bread, naan or chapati, as well as fruits and vegetables, to stay full longer.

2. Avoid over-indulging in sugary food. Kuih, cakes and sugar-laden biscuits should be consumed in moderation. Opt for dates (kurma), which have slow sugar-releasing components, or fresh fruits.

3. Remember to rehydrate when breaking fast. Drink lots of water, sugar-free juices or milk and avoid coffee or tea as these act as diuretics which can cause dehydration.

4. Chew your food. Eating fast without proper chewing will lead to indigestion and discomfort. Take your time and do not rush through your meal.

Taken from The Star Metro, August 22

WHILE Ramadan is a time for us to reflect about the hardship of the poor and unfortunate to get nice and decent meals, many tend to adopt the habit of I JUST DON.T CARE. Of course this improper behaviour will lead to food wastage and in the long term, contribute to an unhealthy body.

Nour El Ain, senior manager of dietetics and food services in her own house, provides some tips on improper food consumption during Ramadan.

1. Maintain a regular intake of plain rice with lauk-pauk during sahur to stay full longer during the day. Avoid taking Gardenia bread with strawberry jam or Maggi Goreng Perisa Sambal Pedas as those kind of meals will not make your stomach full.

2. Avoid eating light meals like kuih-muih or plain biscuit during sahur. Opt for the ones that you think you will miss the most when you start fasting, like Moist Chocolate Cake, Mango Pudding or Vanilla Ice-Cream with a Cherry on Top.

3. Remember to drink a lot of water (a lot!) when breaking fast. Plain water or Juices can rehydrate your body and prevent food consumption. This will reduce the food wastage. Better yet, you don.t have to buy any food at all because drinking water alone can make you full. (try bloated!)

4. Chew your food as fast as you can because Sahur time is almost over!! Tulah, sape suruh bangun sahur pukul 5.30pagi...

This message is brought to you in order to remind you NOT TO WASTE FOOD during Ramadhan.

And rajin-rajinlah bangun sahur, sebab pahalanya banyak berkali ganda..

Renung-renungkan dan.. Selamat Beramal...

Photoshop Please..

I am thinking of buying Adobe Photoshop CS5 software.. At first I wanted to download the Crack Version of it but I was too afraid to trust the source of the download - it might sent Virus my way.

Dump the Baby

REMBAU: The body of a baby boy, with bruises on his head, eyes, cheeks and back, was found at a bus stop at Batu 8, Jalan Pedas-Linggi, near here.

Rembau OCPD Deputy Supt Mizan Md Dom said passers-by found the body on the bus stop seat at about 6am yesterday and called the police.

"The baby, believed to be about 10 to 12 months old and fully clothed, was wrapped in a batik sarong and towel. There was an inoculation mark on the baby’s left arm,” said Supt Mizan. He said the body had been sent to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban for a post-mortem.

Mizan urged those with information on the baby to contact the Rembau police station at 06-685-2222 or 06-685-1999 or the nearest police station. – Bernama

A question that needs to be answered: Has baby-dumping becoming a new trend nowadays?

Days after days we hear about the inhuman act of dumping/killing baby almost everywhere in Malaysia. The most cruel form of baby-dumping was the almost-rotten dead baby found in the pile of rubbish at a dump site. And the mild one was the one placed at the doorstep of a house owned by the averagely-rich married couple.

Last year 79 baby-dumping cases were reported. But this year, within the first eight months, 65 cases had been reported. WOW! Should we be proud of this statistic?

An advice for the baby-dumpers out there, please don.t kill an innocent child of your own blood. It is totally unforgivable.

If you can.t afford to take care of the baby, it.s okay to dump him. But please do it nicely, in a humanly way. Either you drop the baby at our country.s first Baby Hatch aka Adoption Center which started its operation barely three months ago, or just drop him at the doorstep of any house near you.

But please. Don.t kill that baby. Please give him a chance to live his own life. He doesn.t  even need to know that he was once unwanted and been dumped by his very own biological mother.

Order An Instant Bride

Lee (right) showing the documents he signed to acquire his Vietnamese bride.

JOHOR BARU: A 50-year-old businessman’s hopes of a blissful married life with his 22-year-old Vietnamese bride-to-be was shattered in just a day.

Lee Law Oh said he paid RM6,000 to a match-making agency, which then “delivered” her to him.

“However, when she arrived at my house, she told me that she did not want to be married,” he told a press conference organised by Johor Baru MCA Youth chief Kua Song Tuck here yesterday.

“I sent her back to the agency the next day. But the agency refused to refund my money and insisted that it was my fault the marriage did not happen. I really want to end my bachelor days as I don’t want to die alone. I was so close to achieving happiness, but it was gone all too soon.”

Kua said there was a growing trend for men in Johor to acquire Vietnamese brides through match-making agencies, but many were duped instead. “As most of these men are desperate to settle down, they became easy prey for such Vietnamese women and their agencies, and were cheated of thousands of ringgit,” he said.

“I advise single men not to resort to foreign bride agencies as they might be duped in the end,” he said.

Finding a Spouse is as easy as ABC nowadays. Matchmaking agencies are everywhere!

The easiest way would be through this link: www.malaysiadirectory.com/Relationship/Matchmaking/ where you can find aplenty of choices in the categories of Friendship, Romance, Love, Penpal, Dating, Valentine, Traveller and many more. You can also choose whether you want the person: Single, Widow, Widower, Divorcee or of the Late Marriage.

For Muslims, the most popular matrimonial site would be http://www.muslima.com where single Muslims over the age of 18 meet other Muslims or admirers interested in culture, Muslim marriage and the Muslim way of life. Sounds cool, huh?

Anyway, if you choose to get married by using an Internet Matchmaking Service, be sure to meet the real person face-to-face first before giving out the payment. Make sure you guys are comfortable around each other, and the most important thing is... Be Yourself. If that person.s not interested in you, go browse another partner. You got thousands more waiting in the Matchmaking List.

But to be safe, don.t deal with the Foreign Matchmaking Agency lah.. Orang Malaysia pun apa kurangnya....

ps. Selalu tengok orang Korea/Jepun dalam drama, diorang suka sangat guna agensi cari jodoh. Aishh, rasa macam nak cube try test la pulak.. huhu, sounds desperate tak??

Ta-Ta Ta'aruf

Aloha people! As my class.ll start at 10.30 this morning, I think that it might be a good idea to publish my neglected post about the Taaruf Week that started from 6th - 8 July 2010.

I know it is sooo last month but I still wanna talk about this. At least I.ll have something to reminisce after I graduate the next 5 years. 5 years. 5 years. 5 years. I just wanna emphasize on the 5 years, to make sure you get the idea of how enthusiastic I am feeling right at this very moment.

F.I.V.E years.

Rima Fakih and Ramadhan

She is the first Arab-American and Muslim (yes, you read it right: a Muslim!) to be crowned Miss USA.

In 2007, she won the Stripper 101 Contest for a Detroit radio show, Mojo in the Morning. The photos of her pole dancing her way to a prize of jewelry, adult toys, and a bra full of singles have been widely circulated. Just Google up her name then you.ll be able to find tons of her pictures.

Being a Muslim, fasting is obligatory in the month of Ramadhan. "I am fasting," Fakih told the Free Press. "It's part of my religion. ... I wanted to be respectful."

Dear Miss Rima Fakih,
First of all, congratulations on your win.
Secondly, I.m sorry for misjudging you. You are actually fasting in Ramadhan!
But if you really want the respect from Muslims worldwide, I think you should start by Covering your Aurah first.

After all, it is the main part of your religion...

ECG Demo

Yesterday, our class became pretty chaotic because a brother was suddenly unconscious.

Lucky for us, Dr Maung Maung Cho was there. Actually, he was lecturing us about The Abdomen and The Electrocardiogram when the incident happened.

The brother was then being carried to the front of the class.

Suddenly everyone started to have a look at him. I stood up too. It.s not like we can see a situation like this everyday. It was surely an opportunity not to be missed. Ouh... Poor that guy.

Dr Maung2 Cho tried to wake him up with the help of a Medical Staff who happened to pass by outside our class.

Seeing that he didn.t regain consciousness yet, Dr Maung2 Cho decided to use him for our lecture purpose. He was used as a test subject for Electrocardiogram Demonstration.

We agreed. After all, it was a golden chance to see what was like to detect the heart rate of an unconscious person.
The ECG was set up and the heart rate was measured.

Turned out the result was normal.

Yeah, because he was awake. And he was never passed out in the first place.

Only then I realised that The Dramatic Scene was just in My Imagination.
Darn. It is surely interesting to have a knocked-out person as a Test Subject.

Makeover Madness

Try having a cup of sugarless Nescafe Classic as early as 5.15 in the morning; you.ll find it hard to forget the bitter taste afterwards. Ugh.

Remind me to include 'sugar packets' in my To-Buy-List. I strongly refuse to have the same version of the coffee ever again. Ughhh.

Now, speaking of Madness.. I am sooo liking the new Toy Makeover Station that my parents got for my sister. It is so awesome because it comes together with necklaces, rings, lipsticks, bracelets and other make-up stuffs. How cool is that??

Note to self: I am so gonna get one like this for my daughter.s 5th birthday. (10 years to go before I.m ready to jump into The Commitment; guess it.s too soon to make a baby plan now, isn.t it?)

But if it.s gonna be a boy, I wouldn.t wanna Gay-Transform him. I.ll think of something else for his 5th birthday present.

Hmmm.... maybe a Toy Hairdressing Salon Station. A dark purple one.

Okay okay. With only a small portion coloured pink. A shade of light pink, to be exact.

What?? It is LESS feminine..

Note For You

Syuki, it took me this long to upload and edit this picture. Not that I.m busy, it.s just forgetfulness. And laziness. Hehe.

Anyhow.. (ala Dr Imad's anyhow in Histology class) I don.t really like the picture.

Cuz it makes me look like an Alien.

The Broken Things

This morning when I woke up for Sahur, I accidentally knocked my beloved-red-colourful-polka-dot-mug from the shelf. A sound loud enough to wake up my roomie as well.

As I looked at the pieces of the shattered glass (ceramic, to be precise but glass sounds more dramatic), I swear I could feel my heart melted at the same time.

I was deeply upset cuz we.ve been together for almost two years. We clicked. We matched. We suited each other so well that I always felt comfortable be with it. The Chemistry was there. Was.

Now it.s gone, I need some time to recuperate after the tragic incident.

So long, My Precious Polka Red Mug.

Let.s treasure our history together.

Rest In Peace.

Little One Fasting

My 5-year-old sister, Adlin is trying to fast too. She could endure a full-day fast, but there were days she only managed until 3 o'clock in the evening.

Adlin and her classmates at school were given a 'Fasting Form' to be filled out by parents (read: Mom) every day. There are columns for 30 days of Ramadhan and also spaces to record the 'Fasting Period' of the child starting from Sahur until what time in the evening (or not fasting at all!)

Me and my 10-year-old sister, Izzah always tease her, "Kalau tak puasa penuh, tak dapat duit raya tau!". And sometimes Adlin returned back the words to my Form-5-sister, Jehan, "Kak E'an (read: Jehan) tak puasa tak boleh dapat duit raya tau. Alin je boleh, sebab Alin puasa.."

At 5.15 this morning, I received a call.

It was Adlin.

"Kak Ain, Kak Ain bangun sahur dah ke?"

Seeing this, I can.t convince myself NOT to feel sleepy.

I gotta take a little nap now.

Kring Kring!

.... Yes Hello? Who.s there?
Oh. It.s you, Ramadhan. Nice to hear from you again.

Wahh it.s Ramadhan, people. I can.t believe time flies so fast.

30 days to go before we, Muslims celebrate Eidul Fitri. 19 days more to go before we, the 14th Zenith.ll be having our very first Mini Test. And 2 months to go before the first End Block 1 Exam.

God. The thought of Exams terrifies me a lot. I shouldn.t waste time no more. No more The Sims. No more Scrubs. And definitely no more Internet.

Tsk. Who am I kidding? Who would believe that I.ll be able to give up those things easily?

Okay. Since today.s the first day of Ramadhan, I think I can try to reduce (I say reduce, not quit) the aforementioned distractions so that my 30 days of Ramadhan.ll be blessed and my upcoming Exam.ll be somewhat less frightening.

Ah. I just hope I can persuade myself to do More Study, Less Play.

So my fellow friends, let.s make a brand new intention, a strong determination and aim to be a slightly better person. Even if it means pushing ourselves to carry out the good deeds for.. say, only a month, it.s worth a try.

Cuz Ramadhan just rings, people. You wanna hold on or let go?

It.s your call.

Dialect Dilemma

I.ve always want to ask this one particular question to my friend, but usually I forget. So this evening, I couldn.t resist to ask her this:

"Yun, kenapa dengan Syuk ko sokmo cakap Kelantan, tapi dengan aku ko cakap biasa je?"
(Yeah, the question is grammatically incorrect. Kelantan is a dialect, not a language. I know, no need to be so skema. I mean, you understand what I was trying to say, aite??)

Considering the fact that I firmly asked for a solid reason why, she explained that our friend Syuk aka Suki has a thick Terengganu dialect so, indirectly she'll be compelled to use the Kelantan dialect when talking to Syuk.

Oh come on Yun, this is clearly a bias. A prejudice against non-Kelantanese.

I feel discriminated.

I know I.m being foolish and childish but still.. what happens to the equal human rights, people?

ps. Well, perhaps it.s better for me to start learning my Pahang dialect too.  Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang - the 1Malaysia inter'dialect'al buddies. Pretty cool, huh?

It.s Snowy!!!

Ouh. Snowy.s our pet rabbit. Isn.t he cute??

His eye.s pink!! Coolio!!
