Of Workshop and Lunch Sessions

The day before..

This evening...
Me and my two best friends, Yun & Shuk :D
To cut the story short, we attended Professional Exam Workshop this morning. We were told that the Workshop started at 9am, we didn't know it was supposed to start at 8. We are so sorry for being late.

This is the first time such workshop is organised for second year Med students in IIUM. The idea to hold this workshop came from our beloved Trainee Lecturers of BMS.

Basically, this workshop provides us with tips, advice and motivation for the upcoming Pro Exam. The talks were given by our lecturers and also by the famous IIUM speaker/motivator, Dr. Khairidzan.

Speaking of which, now I know which one is Dr. Soraya, Dr. Hazulin and who is Dr. Aniza Pakeer.. Hehe :)

Credits to Munirah Syakirah & her boy friend Shahir for the lovely pictures ;)

Listening to the lecturers

Dr.Maung2 Cho received flowers from our Batch Leader, Bunyamin. Dr. Maung's retiring :(

Then we had Photography Session together with Basic Medical Sciences (BMS) lecturers in front of the Kulliyyah of Medicine's building. Under the scorching sun!

After that, we had Lunch session with all of our pre-clinical lecturers, to show our appreciation and gratitude to the lecturers who've been teaching us for the past 2 years.

Pub & Info Bureau Zenith were responsible for the Hall Decoration, but we had some help from Zenithians too. A very big thank you to Kerie (Head Designer? hehe), Fais, all the tall guys for helping with the balloons (Izani, Pue, Farabi) and the very helpful sisters Majdiah, Kak Aflah, Lina, Faie, Miza, Madi, Shamin and others who helped us in putting up those Decors and getting them down too. We borrowed most stuffs from SRC Room, so no budget was allocated for the Decors.

Pavlova from Dr Nour El Huda! Yummy! Thank you Dr! :D We had lots of desserts, thank you to those who sponsored all those puddings and cakes! Secret Recipe's a delight!

All in all, the Workshop and the Lunch marked the last events with our pre-clinical lecturers.

End of Exam?

End of exam feels great! Although I'm pretty sure that my result will not be that great, I like to celebrate anyway. Here's a video for the celebration. Enjoy!

Ops. Wrong video. It's this one below. Sami Yusuf and Dato' Siti! Like like like

Nevertheless, I should not celebrate too much. Got another big exam coming in two weeks time!

Exams. Why do we have to take the exams. Exams. Exams.

Maher Zain Live in KL, Malaysia

Day/Date: Saturday, 16/6/12
Time: 8.00 - 11.00pm
Venue: Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur

Here are some of the pictures I managed to capture that night. Yeah, we were like so far away from the stage. But still, enjoy the pictures! :D

Raef with his popular Cover Song of Rebecca Black's Friday - It's Jumuah
Apart from this song, he also performed Chris Brown's With You and Jason Mraz's I'm Yours (Rabbee). Search for Raef in You Tube, you'll get to his cover songs :)

Irfan Makki was also at the concert, but I forgot to take his picture. He sang duet with Maher Zain in "I Believe" and "Allahi Allah Kiya Karo"

And here I put together few short clips of the concert. For a 1.32GB .mkv file, this took for about 8 hours to be uploaded to YouTube. So enjoy! :D

Busy Weekend

On Friday 12midnight, athletes for MIVG (Medic InterVarsity Games) 2012 departed from UIA Kuantan to UPM Serdang by bus. We stopped at IIUM Gombak Mosque at about 3.30am and took a nap. On Saturday 6.30am after Subuh prayer, we started our journey to UPM.

Among the games were Netball, Basketball, Track & Field, Badminton, Volleyball and Futsal. The 17 participating universities were: UM, UKM, UPM, USM, UMS, UiTM, UniKL RCMP, UIA, MONASH, IMU, MAHSA, AIMST, CUCMS, PMC, PU, UTAR and UCSI.

MIVG this year was awesome. Thumbs up to UPM's organising Committee Members- with all the goodie bags, cool prizes and the smooth flow of the events, they really made this event a success. They managed to get sponsors from Ginvera, Brands, Gnl, Gardenia, UniPress, Yeo's, Nike Malaysia and many more.

The lunch was okay

UIA Track Athletes (Sister)

The good news is that - it was twice in a row that UIA won the Overall Champion!! (last year's IVG was at UiTM Shah Alam) Yaaayyy! :D :D :D UIA won Gold in Futsal and Volleyball. :D :D :D Alhamdulillah :)

I went back home early so I was not included in the group photograph during the Closing Ceremony. Nevertheless, I am really proud of our university's achievements :)

I took a bus from UPM straight to Komuter Station (after waiting for about an hour at the bus stand) to meet my parents at Su Casa. At the KTM Station, I took the train to Bandar Tasik Selatan and change to RapidKL heading to Ampang. I did not know that they have replaced the Ticket to Token! Boy, was I confused when the token came out from the ticket machine.

From Ampang, I took a taxi (fare: RM6) to Su Casa Hotel and reached the hotel room at 6.00pm. After Maghrib, my family and I went to Stadium Merdeka to watch Maher Zain's Concert. My parents did not go inside, they said they're too old to watch this kind of stuff :)

RM78 per head and Free Seating. Far, far away from the Stage ~
Amazing concert! I'll tell you more in my next post

The next morning, we went to my Aunty's house in USJ, her daughter was getting married. This was her Majlis Pertunangan, and the food was extremely delicious.

In pink
Waiting in line ~

At about 1.30pm, we went back to Kuantan. Reached home at about 6.30pm, after stopping at R&R for prayers and at SMA Bukit Goh, my sister's school.

2 t-shirts, some souvenirs and a bronze medal (not in the pic) :)

What a busy weekend. Now switching to Serious mood ---

It's time for TS3 Showtimee!! :D

Find Your Passion

Source: 'Get the Life You Really Want' by Jessica See, a certified professional coach and trainer with Image Coach International. Extracted from Star Classifieds. Monday, June 11.

How many people really take the time to explore what is their true passion and purpose? (Me! me!) Very few, I believe.

Most of us just tend to flow along the path of least resistance (Yeah, sounds like me) — from school to college to job after job — with very little thought given to what we really want to achieve in our lives until it is probably too late. (Hey, I give mine a lot of thought!)

So, count your blessings when you receive a wake-up call. Take it as an opportunity to stop the auto-drive mode you are in and explore and discover your purpose and passion. (Hmmm...)

Reflect on the following questions:

1) Do you feel good about yourself, your life, and where you are going?
Ermm... Yes, No and No??

2) If time and money are not a problem, what would you be doing on a daily basis?
I would be still be studying, but in a different course and a different place.

3) What do you really want for your life? What don’t you want? What have you settled for?
I want to be an Art student. I don't want to be a Doctor. I have to settle for Medicine.

4) Do you feel fulfilled and satisfied with your life choices so far? If not, what would you change if you could?
Of course not! Why would I? I would very much like to quit and start a brand new chapter of my life. I would want to follow my dreams and not thinking about the feelings of other people. I would love to enjoy the freedom of making my own choices. Whatever the risk is, I'll be glad to face it. I just want to be able to feel something.

But who am I kidding? I can never do that. I can never quit right at this moment. I would be a total failure to my parents and my family. Not to mention their feelings and embarassment. I should consider all the pros and cons before making any decision. I should not be selfish and should not act rashly. Think of the consequences. Do not be immature, act like an adult, will ya?

I do not want to act like an adult! Who cares if I'm immature?

See? That's immature.

Whether or not you are experiencing a professional crisis right now, step back and re-assess where life is leading you. (What's that for? It's not like I can change anything~)

If you discover that you have been sacrificing meaning, fulfilment, balance and happiness in life for the outward trappings of “career success”, it is time to regain control of the life you really want. — Singapore Straits Times/Asia New Network.

Yeah. If only life is that simple.
