Wikipedia says that nightingale is a small passerine bird best known for its powerful and beautiful song.
In Sonnet 102, Shakespeare compares his love poetry to the song of the common nightingale (Philomel):
- "Our love was new, and then but in the spring,
- When I was wont to greet it with my lays;
- As Philomel in summer's front doth sing,
- And stops his pipe in growth of riper days:"
- Powerful voice as always, Demi :)
