Of Ehousemen and Laser Eye Surgery

The ehousemen system is open today at 12pm! Farah and I went to Coffee Bean ECM as early as 11am to secure a spot to use their public WiFi.

The system allows us to choose which hospital we want to serve
Its based on first come first serve basis, thats why we must apply ASAP

Alhamdulillah I got Hospital Ampang, Selangor!! :D :D :D

When you finish applying, you will get the formal letter to be printed!
As easy as ABC! :D

I'll start working at the end of February, or maybe early March. Bismillah!

Oh. My sister and I did laser eye surgery recently in Eye Specialist Clinic IIUM Kuantan under Prof. Khairidzan. We made an appointment in November last year, and the date of our operation was set on January 14th 2016 (because of the long waiting list). The fee for ex-UIA student is RM3000, and for others is RM3500.

Today is the fourth day after operation.

Tired of wearing glasses? Yes indeed!
This is the 'before' photo of me hehehe

Before going into the operation room
Photo Refractive Keratectomy (PRK) was done by Prof. Khairidzan
The operation took less than 15 minutes, very quick

Yess thats the door into the room

The eye drops to use after the operation
Compliance is very important, people!

This is the 'after' photo of us!
After the operation, we have to wear sunglasses

Tomorrow we have to go see Prof and get the contact lens removed!

Toodles!

Pesuruhjaya Sumpah/Commissioner for Oaths in Kuantan

Another thing to do before work : get the signature of Pesuruhjaya Sumpah aka Commissioner for Oaths. My dad told me to go to Kuantan Centre Point in front of Kuantan Parade.

The office is at Second Floor in the building
Look for Aida's Food Court, take the stairs/escalator up

The view from above

Here's the office
I had to wait for my turn for a few minutes and then went to see the commissioner
I told him that I would like to get his signature and he gave it for a fee of RM4

Done and done! One final thing to do - a medical check up!

How to Open KWSP/EPF Account in Kuantan

If you want to open Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) or Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) account, the process is as easy as ABC. It took me 5 minutes to become a member. What to bring? Just your Identity Card! (make sure the chip is readable)

The building is located in Indera Mahkota, near UIA campus. Look for this signboard along the road that says Persiaran KWSP. Go straight until you find the building on your right.

Picture on my way back home

This is how the building looks like

Lot of parking spaces available

When you enter the building, go straight until you see this red entrance

Take a number and wait for your turn

No need to bring any money because it's FREE! After the officer registers your account, you will be given your KWSP/EPF member number with instructions on how to activate your i-Account (you can check your statement online!). Voilaa you're done!

Can't wait to start working and start saving!

Welcome 2016! :D

So....a quick update!

1. I worked in my dad's office for two months only, until the end of December. Right now I am working for my dad from home, finishing some stuff here and there.

2. Online application for my housemanship will be open from January 18th to 25th. Hope there's an empty slot for Hospital Ampang!

3. Have to do medical checkup and open a KWSP account before work.... and maybe a CIMB account as well.

4. Sent my eldest sister to Sarawak for her work - she'll be a Medical Officer in Sarawak, how cool is thatt! Hope she'll get the hospital she wants, in Sibu.

5. Sent my 16-year-old sister to her boarding school this morning, in SMA Al-Maarif, Bukit Goh. The other sister will go back to her university this end of January.

6. Two more months left before I start working in a hospital as a House Officer. If everything goes well, I'll go for Program Transformasi Minda (a five-day compulsory course we need to attend before start working for the government) on February 22nd to 26th.

7. I am enjoying my free time before I start working. I am gonna read up some books (starting with Jodi Picoult's Leaving Time), download some good drama series (CSI Cyber series are awesome!) and movies (Dilwale is on my watch list), doing some gardening (put fertilizers and tend the garden), cooking and baking (I am thinking of Tiramisu Cake yumm!) and of course, finishing my dad's work (am gonna make a video clip!).

8. New Year Resolution? Hmm let's see...

I want to work hard to achieve my goals.
I want to start saving money for future.
I want to stay healthy and happy.

Only three for now hehe.

So....let's do this!! :D
